after a few days of making subtle little changes, i think i am basically where i want to be with Windows 7 . so far there has been little downside to the switch and some of the new features i really like . what i like best is that explore.exe is much faster, so my music folder is there in a couple seconds . even better, my music folder is all together again on one disc . woot !

There's not going to be any sausages today as i have just finished installing a new terabyte hard drive on my computer along with Windows 7 . there are so many tiny little settings i have to use to get my puter to act they way i want it to that i havent had time to do any web surfing . i'm mostly completed the upgrade now and i'm taking some time to familiarize myself with Windows 7 and see if there are new and more efficient ways to help me accomplish my daily putering . here's what i'm thinking so far...............

start up/ shut down is much faster
once you get used to the new OS it does seem to make things simpler to use
all my data files made it over to the new system without incident
my music folder is all one drive again. WOOT !!
Dislikes :
it doesn't seem to recognize my subwoofer
i cant find how to 'Move' a file (drag & drop seems to only allow 'Copy')
i lost photoshop
i lost my antivirus & firewall
thats really my opinion of it at first blush . i'm sure with a little more experimenting , i'll find solutions to my dislikes . if any of you out there know of any handy tips for Windows 7 , i'd be happy to hear them . just send me an email

It's cold this week ! I'm sitting here wearing a fleece jacket, cuz its too dang cold to be sitting at my desk without one. the only good thing is that the reason its so cold now, is that there is no cloud coverage and we're getting nothing but clear blues skies, which is a nice change from the cloudy darkness of the previous few weeks .

yesterday as i was doing my breakfast dishes, i saw this odd looking van with a pole out of its top slowly heading down the street . on the side was written BING and on closer inspection i noticed that there appeared to be several cameras attached to the pole . if Bing is planning to do a competitor to Google Street View, I'll be in the window of my building or if they use the second pass , I'll be in the window waving . i cant wait to see what happens when it comes out
