as my internet security program has annoyingly been reminding me, i have a couple weeks left in my antivirus/firewall subscription and have to to re-up or find something new. yesterday i did the grand tour of puter shops in vancouver for recommendations. all that did was let me know that people seem to be really loyal to the security programs that they already use. searching online wasnt much of a help either. the biases were plainly evident and the only thing that everyone agreed on is that the one i have been using (norton internet security 2006) is about as bad as they come. *sigh* from what i can gather norton fixed all the things that drove me nuts for their 2007 version and 2008 is reviewed as even better. people still say that NIS 2008 is bloated, though no good recent reviews in it are available. Norton also has a product called norton360 which includes some optimizing tools, but it does not support firefox (which is insane imo) . the other choice i have is to use Kaspersky Internet Suite 7. i hadnt heard of them before yesterday, but they score extremely highly. so what do i do. try Kaspersky or stick with the devil i know ? if anyone can give me some advice , it would be greatly appreciated
