to go with the previous Public Art Gallery (see bleow for link) , it ocured to me that in a few of the pics , there were hidden or less obvious faces in the pics . that got me to thinking about doing a gallery of those faces , but then i also thought of some other face pics i had , which reminded me of other pics of faces , which reminded me of etc etc etc . by the time i had finished sorting them out , there was another large gallery to edit and post . the result of all this is a gallery i call Public Faces

this morning i pulled open the curtains and was greeted with the sight of wet slushy snow falling . not the pretty gently wafting down kinda snow that i love , but the cold , wet and miserable stuff i hate . so rather than go out in the morning , i plunked about on the puter . first i cleared up the favs list in a sausage blog (see below) and tended to some overdue email (now sy cant hoof me in the nuts lol) . after that i looked out the window saw the same awful weather , so i eecided to make lunch . after lunch there was no change so i finally sat down at the puter and did some pics . luckily with all the recent gallery postings i have done , i have perfected a way to efficiently post galleries , so it really didnt take that long . i even got the idea to post 3 more , but i cant promise when all 3 will be up . keep checking back

The Vancouver Public Art Gallery is the remnants of an online public art photo competition that i was a part of . i did my best but you just cant compete with major cities of the world like paris london or new york , but i still think that along with our gorgeous scenery , we have a lot of artistic talent strewn about the region . some of it here and some will surely appear in subsequent photo galleries . all pics in this gallery are available for public viewing all over vancouver , so if you ever come to town and hate mountains , there are other things to look at lol .

My good friend Cec is selling his helicopter . its a real beauty too . i've been lucky enough to go on her several times , exploring up into the mountains of vancouver island and i have always felt 100% secure with her . knowing Cec , i know that it has been fastidiously maintained and is a real steal for anyone with the kind of money it takes to buy a chopper . the new owner will indeed be lucky .

it never rains , but it pours . in a flurry of energy and focus , i mangled together another Pic Gallery of 2005 Summer Miscellany . this is bascially a mishmash of recent pics that fall into the category of not having enough pics to have their own gallery . theres some critters , some scenery , some flowers , even cec's helicoptor on top of mt Steamboat (Thanks Cec !) . there are some good pics in here and this mishmash idea may just become a permanent plan for future galleries . i may just start doing best pics over a time period galleries . after all , variety is the spice of life and i am a tad lazy

i do still have 2 theme galleries to get finished . i have been working on them forever and its high time i got them posted . just not today . 2 is enough html wrasslin for one afternoon . i hope to get them up soon however , so keep checking back . in the meantime ....

yeah yeah yeah its been ages since i posted anything new on the gallery page , but i finally got around to doing one

this past summer , Port Alberni hosted a Tall ships Festival . without any gov't support , the town put on a successful event . unlike the vancouver event which received $500,000 in grants and still manage to stiff the boat captains and run up a huge debt , Port Alberni's event made money and was enjoyed by all . especially by my mum who just cant get enough of this stuff . one of the best things about this was watching it through my mum's eyes . i took her out on a whale watching boat which we had to ourselves and which went were we asked it to . she was in heaven . fun stuff

the only downside was the weather . it wasnt great , but i did manage to get a few good pics . they are supposed to be back in a couple of years so hopefully these will hold you until then , when hopefully the sun will be out and the light is better .

sometimes its the littlest things that drive us wild . on this page it was that once an entry had been archived, it showed up on this page as extra bold and was hard to read . i had dabbled at fixing it before with no success , but it always pissed me off . i always knew it was some simple line of code and i was right . this morning the rain was really coming down accompanied with gale force winds , so i copied the source code into an html editor and started adding /b here and there until i finally fixed the prob . now i wont be peeved everytime i look at this page . wow !! I actually did something with this site ! i finally got around to making some changes that i have been meaning to do for ages . gone are the boxy tables . here are slow loading but much nicer looking pics . take a gander . the first one is on the homepage and the second is on the gallery page

for keen observers , gone is the moose logo from the top left corner of this blog . in its place is a temporary pic awkwardly squashed into the space which will stay there until i come up with a moose logo of my own . thanks ever so much to storme for granting me permission to use the moose logo , but its about time i thought of a logo on my own . apologies to everyone for having to look at my ugly mug in the meantime . i should have something in its place soon .

also , keep an eye out for new galleries . the weather has turned and so now is as good a time as any to put some new pics for public view . the weather forecast for the next little while isnt very good so ya never know . they may be up sooner than you think .
